A major oil and gas operator required an upgrade of the F&G system to control and reduce risks to “as low as reasonably practicable” by removing the requirement for human intervention to perform executive actions.
The project required to address significant gaps in F&G coverage to ensure early detection of F&G events and automatic activation of control actions.
Development of the F&G philosophy outlining the methodology for determining the performance requirements for each fire zone with reference to the current UK legislation, client standards, international standards, and best engineering practices.
Creation of the fire zone performance requirements for each fire zone through facilitation and chairing of workshops with input from all key stakeholders. Produce a report as an output of the workshop defining the performance requirements for each fire zone.
Completion of a gap analysis against the installed F&G detection and F&G system against the approved design basis documentation. Prioritise areas for improvement with respect to risk and the outcome of the design review, complete with supporting justification.
Production of a basis of design concisely capturing the project requirements, including a description of the technical approach planned for the project.
Development of a project execution plan outlining the strategy through which the project Statement of Requirements (SoR) shall be safely delivered.
Production of a level 3 cost estimate and schedule for each element of the work including engineering, materials, construction, and commissioning.
The project concept phase was delivered successfully on schedule, which provided the framework for execution of the next phase of the project.
Following the successful delivery of the concept phase, we were awarded the concept optimisation scope to further define the project requirements and to evaluation a range of technologies to help reduce capital expenditure.
