The Challenge
Shutdown scope needed calm control
A major oil and gas operator required specialist resources to mobilise to several offshore installations during an extended shutdown.
The shutdown included several integrated control and safety system related scopes, each with its own testing, commissioning, start-up, and handover requirements.
The client needed a commissioning authority capable of managing multiple scopes simultaneously across multiple offshore installations while protecting schedule, quality, safety culture, and the transition back to operations.
ICSS was engaged to provide that client-side commissioning authority role and bring structure, coordination, and technical assurance to the offshore execution phase.
Our Scope
Authority across execution and start-up
ICSS acted as commissioning authority on behalf of the client, taking responsibility for coordinating the offshore execution of all integrated control and safety system related scopes.
Our role included witnessing and accepting testing and commissioning activities, ensuring completed work met the required quality standard before transition to operations.
We actively managed delivery performance throughout the shutdown, keeping execution aligned with schedule requirements while maintaining technical discipline across each scope.
ICSS also supported operations during start-up, including controller tuning and process system optimisation, so the commissioned systems could move from test completion into stable live operation.
Throughout delivery, we maintained a positive safety culture and provided the calm commissioning leadership needed to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a demanding offshore shutdown environment.
